A Cosy Christmas Tea Recipe to Warm Your Soul.

The Christmas season calls for cosy moments, and what better way to embrace the festive spirit than with a soothing cup of Christmas tea? This homemade blend is filled with warm, aromatic spices and a hint of citrus to bring a little holiday magic to your teacup.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups of water

  • 2 black tea bags or 2 teaspoons of loose-leaf black tea

  • 1 cinnamon stick

  • 3–4 whole cloves

  • 1 star anise

  • 3-cm piece of fresh ginger, sliced

  • Peel of 1 orange or lemon (use a vegetable peeler for wide strips)

  • 1–2 teaspoons of honey or maple syrup (optional)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Spices
In a small saucepan, bring the water to a gentle boil. Add the cinnamon stick, cloves, star anise, ginger, and citrus peel. Reduce the heat and let the mixture simmer for 5–7 minutes to infuse the water with festive flavours.

  2. Brew the Tea
Add the black tea bags or loose-leaf tea to the spiced water and let steep for 3–5 minutes, depending on how strong you like your tea.

  3. Sweeten (Optional)
Strain the tea into your favourite mug and stir in honey or maple syrup if you prefer a touch of sweetness.

  4. Serve and Enjoy
Sip your Christmas tea while wrapping presents, reading by the tree, or simply enjoying a quiet moment amidst the holiday hustle.

Make It Your Own

You can customise this recipe by adding a splash of milk for a creamier drink, or even a pinch of nutmeg or cardamom for extra spice.
