Apprentice Spotlight: Meet Keysha

Meet Keysha, one of our outstanding apprentices here at Organic Ministry. With a deep passion for hair and a natural talent for everything she undertakes, Keysha is truly a star. From her incredible head massages at the basin to her skill in creating stunning hair colours, there's no doubt that Keysha is a force to be reckoned with! How long have you been in the industry?

I've been in the hairdressing industry for one year and two and a half months now, and it's been an amazing journey so far!

What part of your job are you most passionate about?

Oh, I absolutely love giving head massages at the basin. It's such a rewarding experience to see my clients relax and forget about their worries for a moment. It's like giving them a little escape and a chance to just breathe. There's truly nothing better than that feeling.

What is your goal and current focus for the next half of the year?

My goal is to become an all-rounder hairstylist. I want to be known for being able to provide every service that our clients need. I believe that being a jack of all trades in hairdressing will allow me to cater to all their hair needs and make their salon experience even better.

Do you have a favourite colour or style you've ever created?

Yes! I had the privilege of working on our salon manager's colour, and it turned out amazing! I absolutely adore that colour, and I put so much effort into all the little details to create the perfect look.

Tell us something nobody knows about you.

Well, not many people know this, but I was a cheerleader for six years! I even reached level 4, so I'd like to think I was pretty good at it.

What's your favourite thing to do when not in the salon?

When I'm not in the salon, you can usually find me either catching up on some much-needed sleep or hanging out with my friends.

What's your current favourite product to recommend to clients?

Smooth Operator is my go-to recommendation. It was actually the first product I ever learned about, and it's so versatile. It provides moisture for dry hair, which is perfect for reducing frizz during the colder months with more moisture in the air.

And what's your favourite product for yourself right now?

Lately, I've been curling my hair quite a bit, so I'm loving Queenie by O&M, a firm hold hairspray. It's been a lifesaver in helping my curls stay put all day long.

What's your coffee order or what's in your OM mug?

My coffee is always with two sugars and full cream milk. And during the summer, you might find a few ice cubes in there too!

What's your favourite part of working at Organic Ministry?

There are so many things I love about working at OM! The friendships I've made with the staff are incredible, and I cherish the diversity of our clients. Working with different hair types and colours is so exciting, and I love getting to know their stories and cultures. Sharing my passion for hair with my coworkers and being able to showcase my abilities is just the icing on the cake!
